A man's behaviour may be interpreted and is expressed through male body language. The fact that a man is flirting is usually an indication of his interest in a woman to test a woman's response to him. He may or may not have any further intention beyond flirting, but that will not necessarily be apparent from his behaviour.
A man's body language may give an indication of a his interest in a woman. If signals are misinterpreted, a misunderstanding may arise between the two parties. A woman's own attitude is important. Rather than considering a man's actions to be negative, regarding them in more a positive light may glean more information about his behaviour.
The first visual indication may be that a man is making eye contact with a woman. Smiling is an indication that the man is approachable and genial. Together with other signs, smiling can be seen as a positive indication.
A man may touch parts of his own body such as his cheek face or the side of his neck. He may touch his hair or adjust an item an item of his attire such as his collar or tie. Touching the woman in a playful manner on the palm, back of hand, forearm, elbow is another sign. This behaviour is more likely to received positively if it is expressed, in a natural, not sleazy way. If the man is leaning in, it is clear that he wants to be closer, he is not displaying any resistance, is comfortable, and not adverse to closer physical contact.
